With the end of the 2021/22 tax year it is the time to look back at some of the big contract awards that have occured over the last 12 months. Today we’re going to take a look at contract awards in WA for Education and Training Services.
Summary
64 contracts were awarded across the year, ranging in value from $240m down to $44,000. The biggest awarders of contracts were the Department of Education and the Department of Health.
Biggest Contract Awarded
Unsurprisingly this was tendered by the Department of Education, for a Panel for Professional Learning Programs for Teachers. It was worth $240m and was divided in to five categories:
- Curriculum Support
- Cross-Curriculum Priorities
- Capabilities
- School Improvement
- School Diversity
24 providers were appointed to the panel, including Curtin University, Early Childhood Australia, and Insight SRC.
2nd Largest Contract
Another Department of Education contract – for Engagement Programs for Aboriginal Girls and Young Women in Year 7 to 12 in Western Australian Public Schools – Panel Arrangement. It was worth $83m, with 7 contractors getting a place on the panel, including:

- SHINE Inspire Achieve Belong
- Koya Aboriginal Corporation
- Stephen Michael Foundation
- The Wirrpanda Foundation
- Glass Jar Australia
- Aurora Education Foundation
3rd Largest Contract
The next on the list was tendered by Central Regional TAFE and was for Specialised Training Services. This was worth $10m and was awarded to 6 providers:
- Civil West Training and Assessing
- Tymeout Training and Assessing
- Driver Risk Management
- Western Evolution Mining and Civil
- Skyline Services
- Oakajee Jobs
